Emergency Sheltering for Owned Animals
One day course provides the basics of emergency sheltering for animals including types of animal shelters, legal concerns, introduction to animal sheltering framework, and real- life scenarios. Ideal for shelters and rescues interested in planning for emergencies, volunteers who work in emergency sheltering for humans, and provides half of the 16- hour training requirement for all PART volunteers.
Basic Emergency Response for Animals
One day course providing an introduction to emergency response for animals, how animal response fits within human responses, basic incident command, and animal behavior and handling. Minimum course requirement for all PART volunteers, also a great start for anyone who is interested in working to support emergency responders in pet deployments.
Pet First Aid
Teaches the basics of assisting an injured animal and the safety hazards of doing so. Learn pet CPR and how to check for illness and injury and rule out their causes.
Large Animal Handling
Awareness, Operations, and Technical level courses are available to teach firefighters, emergency responders, animal control, and law enforcement officers how to approach, capture, and move large animals. This class will cover how to support a horse down in stall, corralling pigs or goats, and the safety concerns that all responders should be aware of when handling large animals.
All courses can be scaled down to fit tighter time frames or scaled up to include live exercises. Remote and in person options available!
